What a clearance includes
- Every room, plus the loft, garage, shed and garden if you want them done
- All the carrying and loading. You don’t need to move anything first
- Good furniture set aside for reuse where we can, and metal, wood and electricals sorted for recycling
- A sweep through each room once it’s empty
- Photos when we’ve finished, and a waste transfer note for your records
Roughly how many loads?
It depends how full the house is. A tidy three-bed is a very different job from one that’s been filling up for forty years, so treat this as a starting point. Photos of each room get you a fixed price.

Sofas, mattresses and fridges carry a small extra charge each (see prices). There’s no VAT to add.
Clearing a loved one’s home
A lot of our house clearances come after someone has died or moved into care. We know it’s not just rubbish. Tell us what to keep, such as paperwork, photos, jewellery or a particular piece of furniture, and we’ll set it aside rather than load it. If something turns up that looks important, we’ll stop and ask.
Plenty of families we clear for live away. We can collect keys, send photos as we go and when it’s done, and drop the keys back to you, a neighbour or the estate agent. If a solicitor is handling the estate, we can invoice them directly.
What we can’t take
We don’t take asbestos, paint, chemicals, gas bottles or fuel. In older houses, check before anyone disturbs old floor tiles, textured ceilings, pipe lagging or corrugated garage roofs, as they can contain asbestos.
Questions about house clearance
How long does a house clearance take?
A one-bed flat is usually half a day. A three-bed house with a full loft and garage can take a day or two. We’ll tell you when we give you the price.
Do I need to be there?
No. We can collect the keys, send photos as we work and when we’ve finished, and return the keys to whoever you choose.
Will you take things to charity?
Where furniture is in good condition and still has its fire safety labels, we’ll try to get it reused rather than tipped. Tell us if particular items should go somewhere specific.
Can you invoice a solicitor or executor?
Yes. Tell us who to invoice when you book and we’ll put the property address and any reference on it.
