Before we come
If you can, pop your head through the hatch and take a few photos. That’s usually enough for a fixed price. If you can’t get up there, tell us roughly what’s in it and we’ll confirm the price when we arrive, before we move anything.
Anything you want to keep, tell us and we’ll hand it down rather than bin it. Old paperwork with bank details or other personal information should be kept aside for a shredding service; we clear rubbish, we don’t shred.
How we work up there
- We bring our own lights and ladder if you don’t have one
- We only walk on boards and joists
- Dust sheets go down on the landing before anything comes through the hatch
- We don’t disturb insulation. Old loose-fill insulation can contain asbestos and needs a specialist
Common loft finds
Suitcases, Christmas decorations, boxes of old toys and school books, spare furniture, carpet offcuts and whatever came up during the last move. All of it can go on the truck, and anything recyclable gets sorted at the tip.
Questions about loft clearance
Do I need a loft ladder?
It helps, but if there isn’t one we’ll bring our own.
Can you clear just the loft and nothing else?
Yes. A loft on its own is usually a quarter or half load.
Will you take old paperwork?
Yes, but we don’t shred. If there’s anything with personal or bank details on it, put it aside for a shredding service.
